For this Haute Couture season, the atelier was seen covered in a collage of baroque imagery from architecture to works of art; juxtaposed with portraits of the Kayan tribe. Images of Kayan women wearing their traditional neck brass coils alongside images of the crown molding at the Chateau de Versailles; gave us an interesting platform to play with. The common denominator between both elements was the idea of structure and ornamentation. This is what BASIL SODA stands for; an impeccable structure that is intelligently adorned. An array of colors ranging from; dark teal to rich emerald, along with a pop of mango and cranberry that compliment our calm champagne and blush rose. A focus on textile surface design was evident to give a true meaning to the words Haute Couture. Our embroideries rich in crystal beadwork along with an accent of ostrich feather detailing allow the BASIL SODA woman to explore her wilder, more extravagant side. We as a team at BASIL SODA are staying true to our founder’s aesthetic by utilizing his signature cuts and textile manipulation techniques. We believe that what he has created is sacred and we must stay true to the house’s DNA in addition to injecting new life into the brand.
The BASIL SODA legacy continues.
